“Chicken Juice”

November 15th 2007 by jessica in Personal 0

So today, in the comical world of PTA Clinicals, a man told me he had gotten a shot of “chicken juice” in his knee.

It was the start of his treatment, I did a quick skin inspection to make sure it was safe to use heat — and he had a band-aid on where the hot pack would go.  I asked him what happened, and he said, “I got an injection of chicken juice this morning.”

HA! How do you not ROFL when this happens — So I went to go ask my CI.

Apparently, there is a joint injection thats made from the red piece on the top of a male chickens head…called Synovisk — and thats what this man recieved.

Almost Friday!

So its nearly Friday — and it seems that my weekend is already called for…  Tomorrow we’re helping the 4-Hers set up their Haunted House, Saturday morning I am getting hay (finally…) then Saturday night we’re helping them pull off their Haunted House.  Sunday is church, then hopefully a chance for me to ride, and Andy to realx (game…) but — even though its a busy weekend, I think we’ll have fun.

Here’s a cool card for Christmas:

I made this super cool card the other night for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!  As soon as I get apic, it will be up here!  The card uses Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, and Gable Green — Super Cute!

DIY Christmas!

Final details for the next workshop have been ironed out — and here they are!

Learn to Make Your OWN Christmas Cards!

Prepare your cards early!  Enjoy a day of card making at the Stevens Classroom (Nanticoke Memorial Hospital) November 10.  Two sessions available: AM 9-12pm and PM 1:30-4:30pm.  With your registration fee ($25) you’ll be learning to make 20 Christmas Cards and receive envelopes.  Pre-Registration is required by October 25.  Call Jessica at 302-629-3279 to register today!  Space is limited.

The AM Session is almost filled as of today - 5 spots left.  The PM class is still open.

I’m very excited for this workshop because Christmas Cards are my FAVORITE thing!  I think it stems from Christmas being the BEST time of the year.  I love the reds and greens, the golds and navy, the silver and purples!  The rich, vibrant colors of the fall and winter season just make me come alive!

Goose, our cat loves the cold too - because we bring out the fuzzy blankets — her favorite.

A Great Time

October 8th 2007 by jessica in Personal, Cards 0

I didn’t get a chance to ink anything today, but hopefully some fresh ideas will come soon.  I’ve been checking out SCS to try and get some inspiration.

Andy and I went to church with my Great Aunt today, then to lunch at Tastee Freez, her favorite place.  We had fun visiting and getting a different take on World Communion Sunday.

Andy got creative with the digital camera while I was riding this afternoon, he got some really neat video perspective of some jumps I was working on.  He’s going to tell me how to post the video on my blog tomorrow.

baron3.jpg I’ve come up with the best caption for this one.  This photo is what evolution would like if it were true — the spiny fish turning into a quadruped, erupting out of the dusty mud hole.  HAHAHA.

Another neat thing for today:  Andy proposed to me two years ago today!

This is a super quick Christmas design I did last week.  The Ruby Red and Bashful Blue paper mat I crumpled up to add some dimension to the card.  I used a Vintage Brad as a “nail” to hold my ribbon frame hanger onto the card.  I think the only thing I would change on this card would be the base card.  I’m not so sure I like the Old Olive.

Busy Saturday!

October 7th 2007 by jessica in Cards 0

Today felt like a loong day, but with out a lot getting accomplished.

Last night after a workshop, Andy and I went to a friends house for dinner and a movie.  We didn’t get finished with “Hannibal Rising” until 12:30 AM!  Needless to say — we slept in.  After lunch and laundry, Mom and I ran in-town for some errands:  a visit to the feed store, picking up milk, and stopping by my Grandmothers to get her to perform her home-exercise program for physical therapy.

When we got back home, I started dinner and got the orders from the workshop organized and ready to send off Monday when the workshop closes.  Picked up the house a bit while the chicken was roasting, and thast been the extent of my evening.

I didn’t get a chance for stamping today… :( but hopefully I will get a chance to work on some more Chirstmas designs tomorrow afternoon/evening.

This card is totally cased from the SU Fall/Winter Catalog.  I had a request for last nights workshop to keep every project super SIMPLE.  So instead of embossing, I just used white craft ink and rather than using markers to emphasize specific words, I just stamped the sentiment from the Wishing You Cheer set in the Ruby Red, which is the base card color.  The other colors are Bashful Blue and Old Olive.

Happy Stamping!
